MEET THE TEAM: ROB WEBB

Today's Meet the Team sees us enter the strange and deranged world of our mate, Rob Webb.

Rob is probably the Tigers' unluckiest bowler. He's had more catches dropped off his bowling than all the other bowlers put together. Despite that, he always plays with a smile and accepts his team mates' blunders with good grace.

Yep, Rob's a good 'un. His language is as agricultural as his off-drive. A real Oxfordshire lad even if he wasn't born here. Okay Rob, I've built you up. Now its over to you mate ...

Name: Rob Webb

Date of Birth: 25th September 1973

Where you born Rob? Northampton

What do you do cricket-wise? SRA with a little spin if the arthric wrist will allow, RHB

Who's your favourite cricket team? Northants

Who is your favourite ever cricketer? Ian “Beefy” Botham. The last of the old schoolish cricketers. Liked a drink apparently?

What's your earliest cricketing memory?  Standing at the bowlers end of a full length wicket, thinking “No way” as my father prepared to leather his young son all round the park.

What's the best and worst grounds you've ever played at?  The best ground I have played on was a wicket up at the old Heythrope Park in Enstone. It wasn't the greatest wicket but sunday Afternoon was Ladys swimming only and the pool, windowed down one entire side could be seen from one end of the wicket. This acted as a good distraction to the opposing team. Not me obviously!

Worst, Blenhiem palace. It's as dead as a hermits social life. Fact!!

What's your favourite fielding position?  Mid-wicket somewhere. I like to see the whites of their eyes

What's your favourite other sport? Football

Are you any good at it?  Fu*@ing brilliant

What sport do you find most boring?  I'm with Cam Newton-Grain. F1. It's like sports equivalent to Dignitas

Who is your all-time sporting hero? Daily Thompson

What's the strangest or funniest thing you've seen on a cricket field? Any Tiger trying to take a catch

You can have four people to dinner, past or present, who would they be and why?

James Coburn, He liked a drink. That and he has lived a worked with some of the greatest actors and actresses of their time.

Bill Hicks, My all time hero and life model.

Hunter S Thompson, That would keep it lively. In a firearms, life threatening kind of way

John Cleese, Simply because he is John cleese. Intelligent, revered and would lend a touch of class to the whole debauched affair.

You have £100 to spend. What do you buy?  Drugs and booze in no particular order.

Well, apart from his last answer, that went far better than I'd anticipated. Thanks for thinking of our younger readers and keeping the language to a minimum Rob. Thanks mate.
