DID HE REALLY SAY THAT?

The legendary West Indies batsman, Viv Richards, had such a reputation for punishing bowlers who dared to sledge him, many opposing captains banned their team mates from giving him any 'verbal'.

That didn't stop Glamorgan bowler Greg Thomas in a county game against Somerset.

Encouraged by getting the legend to play and miss at a few quick deliveries, a cocky Thomas walked down the wicket to Richards and held the ball up.

"It's red, round and weighs about five ounces, in case you were wondering."

Richards' only response was a death stare at the bowler as he walked back to his run-up.

The real response came the very next ball. Richards hit Thomas' next delivery for six. Out of the ground and into the nearby river.

As Thomas stared in disbelief down the wicket, Richards smiled and completed his revenge:

"Hey Greg, you know what it looks like, now go and find it."

Nice one Mr Richards!
