TIGERS' CHRIS GRAIN MISSING FOR SOUTHFIELD SHOWDOWN

Chris Grain missing from Sunday's Ambush

It hasn't gone unnoticed that Tigers' top order batsman Chris Grain is missing from the line up for the coming Sunday's Ambush against Southfield Superstars at Combe Cricket Club.

Ever present for the Tigers until this season, Grain has now missed the last three games.

Club Captain Baz Floyd was quick to scotch rumours that Grain had been dropped from the side after he had sent text messages to friends at Southfield Superstars criticising Floyd's recent batting performances.

'I have spoken to Chris' Floyd told us 'and he says he didn't send the texts. He tells me he doesn't even know any of the Southfield players and I believe him. Anyway, my batting performances have been rubbish this season and we don't really have enough players to drop them for misdemeanours. It's not like we're England, is it?'

Chris Grain was unavailable for comment but has been spotted in London recently fuelling rumours that he is looking for a move to the London Badgers CC or Stuffed Beavers CC.

Chris' best mate in the Ambush, Rob Webb, commented "I don't know what's happened but I have noticed a change in Chris' behaviour. He's started driving a Fiat, eating a lot of pasta and says 'ciao' all the time. He also told me that if Floyd's batting performances didn't improve, he and his new friends would make sure Baz would be 'sleeping with the fishes'. Other than that, he's the same old Chris".

Make of that what you will ...
